Vacuum pump at condenser of steam cycle of lignitic power plant

This project took place at a steam power plant of 1200 MWel power production capacity.

The steam, after leaving the steam turbine, where the maximum of its power has already been exploited, is led to the condenser, in order to be transformed again into water and be transferred to the steam boiler.

To maximize the exploitation of the steam energy, the condenser stays under vacuum. This vacuum is being maintained with the help of a vacuum pump. 

For this purpose, MICHOS AE delivered two full systems of liquid ring vacuum pump, with water separator and accessories, of total suction capacity of 8000m³/h and total installed power of 220kW.
