Vacuum pump at condenser of steam cycle of diesel power plant

This project took place at a steam electric station of 110MWel diesel power production capacity.

The steam, after leaving the steam turbine, where the maximum of its power has already been exploited, is led to the condenser, in order to be transformed again into water and be transferred to the steam boiler.

To maximize the exploitation of the steam energy, the condenser stays under vacuum. This vacuum is being maintained with the help of a vacuum pump.

For this purpose, MICHOS AE delivered a full system of liquid ring vacuum pump, of installed power of 30kW with closed water circuit and air ejector, especially designed for the application.
