Wastewater aeration system, Heraklion Crete WWTP
Wastewater treatment plant constructed for a capacity of 191,500 population equivalent.
Part of the project concerns the expansion with an ultrafiltration membrane reactor system (MBR, Membrane Bioreactor). In this specific part of the project, MICHOS SA installed and commissioned a 555kW, high energy efficiency low-pressure air compressor system for reactor aeration and membrane flushing. In addition, MICHOS SA undertook the delivery of 1020 pcs. membrane diffusers, especially designed and arranged for this particular application.
It is worth noting that MICHOS SA has installed similar aeration systems with blowers and diffusers in most waste water treatment plants in Greece, as well as in Bulgaria and Cyprus.
